This review may contain spoilers. Fun dark comedy with an interesting look at gun culture in the USA. I enjoyed it on the surface. However, it's hard to dismiss the undertones when you read a bit more about the writer/director and the other points he may have been trying to push. Makes the whole thing feel a bit more gross. Zendaya and Robert Pattison kill the lead roles with incredible chemistry and performances. The whole thing is just dragged down quite a bit by the context in which the film was made.

Such a great story that hits close to home. The whole cast is fantastic. This was the second time I’ve watched it, this time showing our kid. There’s lots of relatable struggles in the movie that gave us lots to talk about as a family.

Funny, sweet, and unexpected. Dylan O’Brien shows incredible range, James Sweeney performs the hell out of his role while also directing quite wonderfully (this movie has one of my favourite tracking shots that I’ve seen in a long time). The supporting cast is wonderful and it’s all backed by a great soundtrack. Loved it.

Fun little crime thriller. It was entertaining enough watching all the pieces fall into place. Satisfying conclusion. One of those movies that ended and I thought, what was the point? And maybe there wasn’t one. And that’s fine. Not everything is that deep. Most frustrating part was Maya’s character. I had the same issue with her character that I did with the character of Claire in ‘The Bear’. The men they pursue are walking red flag factories and their characters just choose to ignore that for the sake of having a love interest. I wish they would give their characters more depth and leave us with a bit of understanding for why they may choose to chase such obviously toxic men. That’s a rant for another day I suppose.
