Crime 101 (2026)
Fun little crime thriller. It was entertaining enough watching all the pieces fall into place. Satisfying conclusion. One of those movies that ended and I thought, what was the point? And maybe there wasn’t one. And that’s fine. Not everything is that deep. Most frustrating part was Maya’s character. I had the same issue with her character that I did with the character of Claire in ‘The Bear’. The men they pursue are walking red flag factories and their characters just choose to ignore that for the sake of having a love interest. I wish they would give their characters more depth and leave us with a bit of understanding for why they may choose to chase such obviously toxic men. That’s a rant for another day I suppose.

The Moment (2026)
I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected. I acknowledge a bit of bias as a big Charli xcx fan, however, I think this was a great film debut. Very funny, very sweet at parts and Skarsgård was fantastic as always. The film started off slowly but the payoff at the end was worth it, in my opinion, with a wonderful monologue by Charli and one of the best jokes in the movie. Awesome.

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple (2026)
An upsetting but ultimately fantastic follow up to 28 Years Later. It explores more of the virus than we've ever seen and the results were immaculate. Incredible performances, again, from Ralph Fiennes, Alfie Williams, Chi Lewis-Perry, Jack O'Connell and Erin Kellyman. Really really rooting for the 3rd to get greenlit. Cannot wait.

Pillion (2025)
This movie was uncomfortable, and not in a bad way. It's a love story with a lot of heart that challenges the viewer quite a bit. It explored BDSM LGBTQ+ relationships in a way that I've never seen before – largely because its something I'm wholly unfamiliar with. Ray, portrayed by Skarsgård, is a frustrating character. He struggles to open up in any meaningful way with Colin (portrayed by Harry Melling). However, upon reflection, it seemed unimportant. Ray exists to help Colin develop. This is a love story about learning to love yourself, be confident, and setting boundaries. Loved it.

One Battle After Another (2025)
This review may contain spoilers. "One Battle After Another" is tense from start to finish. Amazing performances from Leo, Benicio, and Sean Penn, who is horrifying and deplorable as ever. However, the opening scenes and awful Jezebel stereotyping/tropes made it difficult to enjoy the rest of the film as much as I could have. I spent most of the watch pondering why Perfidia was portrayed and written the way she was. Perhaps I need a rewatch or to sit with those feelings more.
